The influence of systematic health education on quality of life in patients with diabetes mellitus

Objective:To investigate the methods of improving the life quality of patients with diabetes mellitus. Methods:The 149 cases of DM patients were randomly divided into experimental group(n=78) and control group(n=71)by age,sex,marital status,educational attainment,DM type,and similar treatment methods; the two groups of patients were evaluated by the survey score of quality of life with diabetes-specific scale during the researching time and after researching 6 months.Results:The difference in quality of life was significant after six months of systematic health education between these two groups (P0.01).Conclusion:Systematic health education is significantly effective methods in improving self-management level and quality of life for patients with diabetes mellitus.
