Determination of berberine hydrochloride in Chuangshu lotion by HPLC

Objective To develop a method to determine the content of the berberine hydrochloride in Chuangshu Lotion by HPLC.Methods HPLC was adopted with column Waters C18(4.6 mm×250 mm,5 μm).The mobile phase was acetonitrile-0.05mol/L KH2PO4(pH=3) and the detection wavelength was at 265 nm.Results The linear relationship of the berberine hydrochloride was good in the range of 0.176～1.056 μg(r=0.999 8),and the average recovery was 95.99%(RSD=1.7%,n=6).Conclusion The method was simple.fast and accurate,and can be used for the determination of berberine hydrochloride in ChuangShu lotion.
