Evaluation of the clinical effect of crown lengthening surgery combined with glass fiber post on residual root and crown

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of crown lengthening surgery combined with glass fiber post on residual root and crown of anterior tooth.Methods Fifty-two teeth of 30 cases who performed prosthesis for residual root and crown of anterior tooth were assigned randomly into two groups,the experimental group adopted objective crown lengthening surgery combined with glass fiber post and the control group used gingivectomy combined with glass fiber post.Through telephone follow-up survey,periodic reexamination and readmission,the parameters of periodontal index and longevity were reviewed and analyzed.Results According to the 2 years' clinical observation,the experiment group's periodontal index and longevity were superior to the control group's(P 0.05).Conclusions Crown lengthening surgery combined with glass fiber post was satisfactory with recent effect and long-term clinical effect on residual root and crown of anterior tooth.
