Research on Velocity Component and Coordination of Fencing Lunge Action for Chinese Elite Male Foil Fencer

Objective:to determine the formations of speed and the critical factors of the lunge in fencing and to determine the evaluating indexes of balance in fencing athletes.Methods:12Chinese national fencing athletes are studied.The kinesiology and dynamics data of the lunge are acquired by using the high-speed infrared camera and three-dimensional force measuring plat.The formations of speed are determined by analyzing the weapon speed curve and body gravity speed curve.The formations of speed of the lunge are acquired by analyzing the individual index and the maximum speed of the weapon.The evaluating indexes of balance of the lunge are chosen by using Hudson's balance theory.Result:In the lunge,the maximal speed of the weapon and maximum angular velocity of knee、maximum angular velocity of ankle、maximum angular velocity of elbow were significantly correlated.In the lunge,body gravity moving speed and knee joint angular maximum and average velocity、ankle joint angular maximum and average velocity、maximum angular velocity of hip、the force which is generated by the opposite reaction between the floor and the leg extending were significantly correlated.Conclusions:1)In the lunge,the indexes determining maximal speed of the weapon are angular velocity of elbow.2)the determination of body gravity moving speed depends on the force which is generated by the opposite reaction between the floor and the leg extending and moving speed of the foreleg.3)the lunge is characterized by the mechanical linkage of the elbow and the keen.
