Research progress of superhydrophobic surface

A review is given about the research progress of superhydrophobic surface.The theoretical foundation of superhydrophobic surface is briefed,and currently available methods for preparing superhydrophobic surface as well as existing problems are summarized.Furthermore,recent advancement in the study of functional superhydrophobic surface is introduced.It is pointed out that,thanks to its unique self-cleaning property,superhydrophobic surface is one of the hotspots in the field of functional materials as well as surface and interface science.Moreover,suggestions are also provided about the development of superhydrophobic surface.
