Retrospective analysis on internal arteriovenous fistula complications of hemodialysis patients with diabetes mellitus

Objective To investigate the arteriovenous fistula patency and complications of hemodialysis patients with diabetes.Methods One hundred and thirty diabetic patients with chronic hemodialysis were collected and analyzed the arteriovenous fistula patency and relative complications(bleeding,false aneurysm,thrombogenesis,infection,pain and edema etc) by retrospective analysis.Results The open rates of arteriovenous fistula from 1 year to 5 years were 100%,90%,88%,86.2% and 82.1% respectively,fifteen patients has happened some complications,such as false aneurysm,infection,thrombogenesis etc.There was no significant affect of age,gender,location of fistulous and modus operandi on the complications(p0.05).Conclusion The arteriovenous fistula patency rates was high in hemodialysis patients with diabetes,but the false aneurysm,infection and thrombogenesis were the frequent complications of them.
