Effects of Cinnamic Aldehyde on Proliferation of Tongue Cancer Tca8113 Cells in Vitro

Objective:To approach the effects of cinnamic aldehyde on the proliferation of human tongue cancer Tca8113 cells in vitro.Method:Human tongue carcinoma Tca8113 cells were cultured in vitro and intervened by cinnamic aldehyde at the concentrations of 256,128,64,32,16,8 ug/mL respectively,and the influence on morphological features of the cells was observed with inverted phase contrast microscope and scanning electron microscope,the effects of cinnamic aldehyde on cellular proliferation were detected with MTT assays.Result:Cinnamic aldehyde showed no effects on morphological features of Tca8113 cells at the concentrations of 16 and 8 ug/mL,it changed the morphology of Tca8113 cells in the concentrations of 128,64 and 32 ug/mL.The drug in the concentration of 8 ug/mL promoted cellular growth,and inhibited the growth in the concentrations of 256,128,64,32 and 16ug/mL,in concentration-dependent manner remarkably.Conclusion:Cinnamic aldehyde could affect the proliferation of human tongue cancer Tca8113 cells in concentration-dependent manner,and it could promote the growth of the cells in low concentration.
