Simulation Research on the Influence of Basic Airfoil Oblique Angle on the Aerodynamic Characteristics of Forward Swept Airfoil

Variable forward-swept wing (VFSW) aircraft is a kind of representative Morphing Aircraft. With the change of forward-swept angle, the VFSW's aspect ratio and the relative thickness of the cross-section airfoil which is based on incoming flow will also be changed, and these changes will have a very important influence on the aerodynamic characteristics of the wing. For probe into the law of this impact, this paper explore the influence of the basic airfoil's oblique angle on the aerodynamic characteristics of forward-swept wing. Compares and analyzes the influence law of the oblique angle on the characteristics of the forward-swept wing's lift, drag and pitching moment through the CFD simulation calculation. The results show that, the forward-swept wing has better aerodynamic characteristics when the basic airfoil is oblique and the wing with the basic airfoil oblique angle of 50° can be used as the wing of the VFSW aircraft and the aerodynamic characteristics of the wing are better in the swept-over process.
