Analysis on HIV sentinel surveillance results and risk factors of pregnant women in Ruili City

Objective To understand the HIV infection status and risk factors of pregnant women in Ruili,as well as explore the HIV/ AIDS epidemic situation and related risk factors of Ruili,so as to provide concrete measures for stopping HIV transmission from mother to child.Methods The data on demographic characteristic and HIV infected status of all pregnant women who attended antenatal clinics in Ruili from 2010 to 2011 were collected and analyzed.Results The HIV infection rate of pregnant women in Ruili was 1.2%.Multi factor unconditioned logistic regression analysis showed that compared with Myanmar pregnant women,HIV infection rate of Chinese pregnant women(OR: 0.203,95% CI: 0.057 ～ 0.0724) was lower.While compared with pregnant women under 30 years old,HIV infection rate of pregnant women between 30 ～ 50 years old(OR: 7.23,95% CI: 2.19 ～ 24.17) was higher.Conclusions HIV prevalence among pregnant women in Ruili was high.Being Burmese and older than 30 years old were risk factors of HIV infection among pregnant women.It is urgent to strengthen the prevention and control of HIV among pregnant women.
