Influential factors of chronic illnesses in rural residents in Wuzhong county,Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region

OBJECTIVE To study the prevalence status of chronic disease in rural residents in Wuzhong county of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.METHODS Used cluster sampling to extract the residents from two townships and 14 administrative villages in 10 townships in Litong,home health interview survey was given to the resident population in the six months.RESULTS The rate of chronic diseases was 12.7%.The top five chronic diseases were hypertension,heart disease,acute and chronic gastroenteritis,protrusion of intervertebral disc and rheumatoid arthritis.The crowds with different age,sex,nationality,culture degree and economic level in family had obvious different chronic disease prevalence.CONCLUSION The control work of chronic disease should focus on women,senior citizens and low-income population.Government departments should continue to increase investment in rural health care,improve the new rural cooperative medical care,improve the health care system,compensation levels of chronic diseases.
