摘要
Objectve: Taurine, glycine and glutamate are the most abundant amino acids in the body and their plasma concentratons may affect by ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke. Materials and Methods: In the present study, the plasma concentratons of taurine, glutamate and glycine in the 120 patents suffering from stroke (60 ischemic and 60 hemorrhagic) were determined using an already developed HPLC method with fluorescence detecton and were compared with the result of 60 healthy volunteers. The plasma samples of the patents were obtained three tmes in the frst fve days of hospitalizaton. Results: A one-way ANOVA test showed a signifcant difference between the plasma concentraton of taurine in the ischemic, hemorrhagic, and control groups ( p 0.05). Conclusion: We showed that the plasma concentraton of taurine increases in the patents with stroke probably because of brain tssue damage which is not a simple release of all contents of cells because glycine and glutamate did not have signifcant changes.
