Abstract
This article presents the psychological intervention with a 19 year old sports woman who has a physical disability and whose main objective is the ending a journey to swim in the open sea. To assist it in achieving its goal, held seven sessions with a frequency of once a week taking as starting point the model of coaching motivational The Giraffe of Canton, where the psychologist creates an enabling environment for the client discover and find their own solutions. For the evaluation of its effectiveness, is used test-retest design with the following instruments: Scale of self-esteem Rosenberg (1965), Scale of psychological well-being Riff (in the Spanish adaptation of Diaz et., 2006) and Scale of General self-efficacy of Bassler and Schwarzer (1996). In general, the results show an improvement in the psychological variables of general self-esteem, self-efficacy, control perception and intrinsic motivation.
