Abstract
Sequences with good correlation property have a great deal of applications in both military and civil fields. A fast algorithm for minimizing the weighted integrated sidelobe level (WISL) is developed based on the gradient algorithm. Unlike the existing gradient-based algorithm for this problem, the step size of the proposed algorithm is obtained by solving a cubic equation, rather than by the time consuming linear search method. Since the gradient and step size of the algorithm can be calculated via the fast Fourier transform (FFT) operations, the whole algorithm is computationally efficient. Numerical experiments show that the proposed algorithm has better performance than the state-of-the-art algorithm.
