Abstract
A series of chitosan based material with nanoparticles of some metals and metal oxides has been synthesized and characterized. Chitosan was used to obtain nanoparticles as a reaction medium, as a dispersion medium for already obtained nanoparticles, and as a substrate (metals can be incorporated into the surface chitosan film). The obtained materials have antimicrobial activity caused by the presence of nanoparticles.
