Abstract
In the machining of Ti-6Al-4V material, adhesion occurs on cutting edge of tool and tool life is remarkably lowered. In this study, turning was carried out using two types of Ti alloy, as one general Ti-6Al-4V (Std.), and Ti-6Al-4V (F2) by acicular structure. And it evaluated the adhesion to the cutting edge and the effect on tool wear. As a result, Ti-6Al-4V (F2) of acicular structure showed lage initial wear of flank and much adhesion on the cutting edge, and the rake face of the tool was damaged greatly. The crater wear of Ti-6Al-4V of standard structure was deep.
