Security Applications for Reliable Energy Management in a Microgrid

Smart grids and microgrids can be the target of technical or non-technical security attacks physically or over software. In this study, applications for reliable energy management in a microgrid are addressed. Accordingly, Gazi Technopark, operating by meeting consumption thereof and which is Turkey's first microgrid in this field, has been discussed in terms of security in microgrids. The microgrid, which is taken as an example in terms of cyber and physical security threats, is examined on software and hardware applications against cyber security risks are evaluated. With the reliable system application implemented, a secure microgrid environment has been created and a grid architecture protected against loss-leakage usage and failure situations has emerged.
