Study on the characteristics of cooling garment that cooperating with phase change material and micro fan

A novel cooling garment based on phase change materials(PCMs) and micro-fans has been developed. In the microclimate simulation room, a comprehensive evaluation of the cooling effect of cooling garment was conducted. The results show that the novel cooling garment can reduce the temperature of human skin and microclimate area to a reasonable range. Within 100 min of the test, the temperature of the microclimate area in the chest, shoulder blade and waist is kept at the comfort temperature of below 33 C for a long time after wearing the cooling garment. The most obvious cooling effect is within 10 min after the fan is turned on. The new type of cooling garment can reduce the humidity of the human body, making the average humidity of skin and microclimate area of the torso decrease by 15.8% and 14.6% maximally in 30 min. When wearing the new cooling garment, the body's thermal sensation, humid feeling and thermal comfort have been significantly improved.
