Study on the Generation and Modification of Surface Atmospheric Pressure Air Diffuse Discharge Plasma on Aramid Fabric

In this paper, a plasma surface treatment method is proposed to avoid the influence of the properties and thickness of the treated material on the discharge. Under the condition of low voltage of 1.1kV, the ultrathin wire double helix electrode structure can generate high active air diffuse plasma on the surface of aramid fabric, and effectively modify the surface of aramid fabric. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and contact angle measuring instrument were used to measure the surface of aramid fiber. The results show that polymers and grooves appear on the surface of the treated aramid fiber, and the contact angle of the aramid fiber decreased from 89.5 ° to 49.3 °. The chemical composition changes of aramid fiber surface were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results showed that after plasma modification, functional groups containing nitrogen and oxygen were introduced into the surface of the aramid fiber. The plasma generated by this method has good uniformity, high density and highly active particles, which provides a technical basis for the application of atmospheric pressure air plasma to large-area industrialized material modification.
