Research on Micro-Motion Modeling and Feature Extraction Method of Helicopter

Micro-Doppler is an unique feature of micro-motion targets and can be used as an important basis for target recognition. This paper first analyzes the micro-motion of helicopter main rotor, derives and establishes a three degrees of freedom micro-Doppler echo signal model based on the scattering point model, and simulates the micro-Doppler characteristics. Secondly, it uses time-frequency analysis combined with image processing method, extracting skeleton of time-frequency diagram. Then, the computation of inverse Radon transform reduced by using gold-segmentation algorithm. Finally, the improved inverse Radon transform is used to extract the micro-Doppler feature of the echo, and the target feature of the helicopter main rotor is high precision extracted. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the method.
