An Advanced Metering System Design Adapted to Electricity Markets

With the rapid progress of China’s electricity market reform, especially the development of the retail market, the current power information acquisition system cannot meet the requirements of the competitive retail market and demand response. Based on the development experience of metering systems in the UK and US electricity market, this paper proposes an adaptive power metering solution for the new demand of power metering system in the future market, which meets the needs of consumers from metering to application through the innovation of equipment and technology in four aspects: metering, acquisition unit, communication transmission and master station.
