Research on control of solid rocket electric actuator based on LQR

Considering the dynamic model of the air rudder of the solid rocket, the state space expression of the electric actuator is derived. Considering the practical demand of low cost and reuse of commercial rocket, the linear quadratic regulator (LQR) scheme of angle and current integrated control is designed according to the optimal control theory. Based on the simulation and dSPACE hardware in the loop testing, the influence of parameters in LQR controller on the dynamic and static performance of the system is studied. The results show that LQR control can achieve more rapid and accurate control of the electric actuator than the traditional PID control, and avoid excessive energy consumption to meet the needs of the rocket servo control.
