Grupo de psicoterapia para pacientes con adicciones hospitalizados en tiempos de la COVID-19

Inpatient group psychotherapy for patients with substance abuse is a challenge in itself, especially amidst the changes induced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Restrictions about people meeting together, shortage of health resources, healthcare staff burnout and communication obstacles as the obligation of mask wearing, all this add to the underestimation of the importance of group psychotherapy as part of inpatient treatment. Despite these barriers, we consider that inpatient group psychotherapy is more necessary than ever as inpatients suffer especially from isolation due to COVID-19 pandemic related measures. Therefore, it is essential to rethink a new way of inpatient group psychotherapy in times of COVID-19 pandemic.
