Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the subcategories included in the Manchester Foot Pain and Disability Index (MFPDI) with Body Mass Index (BMI) in patients with plantar fasciitis. Methods: A cross-sectional observational study was performed with 17 participants who are suffering plantar fasciitis and administered the MFPDI in order to quantify the impact of plantar fasciitis. Results: Only there were statistically significant differences between the MFPDI subscale of pain (p-value = 0.013) and the functional limitation subscale of the MFPDI (p-value = 0.03) in relation to the BMI variable. Conclusion: Increased BMI has a significant effect on the level of pain and functional limitation as determined by MFPDI in patients with plantar fasciitis.
