Abstract
The physical causes of the structural noisiness of GPR data are analyzed. A method is proposed for detecting weak laws of the scattering field against the background of a predominant caustic structure. The possibility of a correct assessment of the likelihood of arbitrary hypotheses about the subsurface structure by the methods of "complexity theory" is shown. An iterative algorithm for the reconstruction of subsurface structures based on GPR data has been developed, using at one stage classical methods and algorithms of computed tomography.
