摘要
Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) are low intensity (1-3 V/cm), intermediate frequency (100-500 kHz), alternating electric fields with anti-mitotic effects on cancerous cells. TTFields therapy was clinically examined in patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM), an aggressive thoracic cancer with poor prognosis. The combined treatment of TTFields (150 kHz) with standard of care demonstrated a promising median overall survival without increases in systemic toxicity (STELLAR clinical trial).
