•Analysed 13CD4 co-deposits from EAST D- and He-plasma tracer injection.•1.4 MeV deuteron ion beam analysis with 0.2 mm lateral resolution.•Deposition efficiency in agreement with earlier low resolution data.•Location of deposition maximum and ExB asymmetry studied.•SOL-Flows and walking appear to be irrelevant for deposition here.
