A Study on Modeling of Sea Clutter Echo for Short Time of Measurement

Multi-function radar (MFR) usually detect targets within wide range of sea clutter for short time of measurement due to its real time processing. However, the sea clutter modeling for long measuring time, which has been widely used, is not proper model to evaluate the detection-performance of MFR. We herein suggest a modeling technique for sea clutter with the information of physical wave-lengths in wide clutter-range, and our experiment results show that the proposed technique is more valid to evaluate the detector using MFR than that without considering the information of wave-length of sea.
