摘要
The rotor structure of a 2-phase switched reluctance motor (SRM) for high-speed application is optimized in this paper. The concave sections between the two adjacent salient rotor poles are padded with non-magnetic material to form a cylindrical shape for the reduction of the windage loss at high-speed operation by reducing the whirlpool inside the air pocket without introducing effect on electromagnetic aspect. Furthermore, instead of the approximated mathematical calculation, the three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) results are explicitly demonstrated to explain the advantage of the modified rotor structure. Finally, a prototype motor running up to 30000 r/min is driven by an AC/DC rectifier to verify the feasibility of the whole system.
