The Next-Generation Television Broadcasting Test Platform in Copenhagen

In this paper we describe a test platform showcasing the next-generation technologies for media-delivery over IP networks. The platform combines novel solutions and concepts throughout the protocol stack, complemented by advanced architectural and service-delivery concepts. Specifically, t he platform leverages a terrestrial and satellite backhaul, multicast IP connectivity in combination with an innovative implementation of QUIC protocol, and HTTP/3 featuring server push. The platform pursues the media distribution with dynamic microservice architectures in a cloud infrastructure, targeting user devices like smartphones, tablets, smart TVs etc.
