Investigation of Combustion, Performance and Emission of Aluminium Oxide Nanoparticles as Additives in CI Engine Fuels: A Review

Over recent years, it has been observed that the excessive demand for conventional fuels has been aggravating due to the exploitative and unsustainable consumption by human beings. Thus, it is a rising ecological concern across the globe for the need to utilize alternatives in the existing fuels to reduce harmful emissions like CO, CO2, UHC, NOx, etc. The present study analyses and summarizes the effect of the addition of only alumina-based nanoparticles in the fuels of diesel–biodiesel blend and considering the research work conducted by different researchers. Also, the paper investigates various performance and combustion parameters like BTE, BSFC, HRR, BP, and EGT, etc. This work discusses the advantages, disadvantages, and challenges associated when nanoparticle additions to the fuel are being done to enhance the performance of CI engines.
