Nowadays, the electrical power system is the main driven of the world economy. Hence, the searching for the better electrical system quality is the main topic for the consumers, which is highlighted with the increasing of the power electronics circuits and the extension of using the computerized systems in the manufacturing part. But these critical loads can be affected with any dip or changing in the power system voltage that directly can happen during any fault or system disturbance. These problems made researchers think to search for the best compensatory methods to make the load voltage at the optimum values in the abnormal operating condition. Power electronics devices have witnessed a great development in recent times, which opened the way for finding broad solutions to voltage problems in the power system. One of the most important modern solutions is the dynamic voltage regulator (DVR), where the use of a DVR is the best way to compensate for the voltage near the loads during voltage sag to save the electrical source in the healthy operation. The DVR is designed to be connected in series with a power system to protect the sensitive load from voltage sag or swell. This study demonstrates the design, modeling, and analysis of the working system of the DVR, where the PSCAD program was used. The simulation results demonstrate the importance of effective use of the DVR in protecting the sensitive load from voltage disturbances as well as in regulating the load bus voltage and making it at the rated value on it.
