Abstract
Since 1978, the Childrens Cancer Group (CCG; see Appendix) has completed three clinical trials in AML in which induction therapy and matched related marrow transplant are major variables [1–7]. A cross-study analysis of the three completed clinical trials, CCG-251, CCG-213 and CCG-2861, helps define the role of induction therapy, allogeneic marrow transplant and chemotherapy in effecting outcome. CCG is currently conducting a fourth trial, CCG-2891, in which autologous transplant is compared to matched related transplant or chemotherapy.
