Efficient Energy Management in Microgrids Using Flower Pollination Algorithm

This paper presents energy management in microgrids using flower pollination algorithm. Here energy management in microgrid is done utilizing renewable energy such as wind and solar power. In this work, implementation of demand response (DR) schedules is carried out as incentive-based payment i.e., on offered price packages. In the microgrid system, several power components are utilized viz., wind turbines, photovoltaic cell, fuel cells, micro turbine, and battery. Case studies are conducted for obtaining minimum operating costs without demand response participation and with demand response participation respectively. The results obtained represent the superiority of the proposed approach.
