Enteral nutrition is associated with high rates of pneumonia in intensive care unit (ICU) patients with acute pancreatitis

•This study focused on ICU-admitted patients with acute pancreatitis.•Enteral nutrition had a higher risk for pneumonias and overall infections.•Parenteral nutrition had a higher risk for pancreatic infections.•More studies are needed to assess nutritional approaches in these patients.
