The amplitude of P-wave varies with azimuth when it pass parallel or vertically whith fractures in anisotropic media, so we can study the change of the attributes of seismic data. Azimuth angle of seismic should be wide enough to predict fractures of reservoir more accurately. The conventional fracture prediction technology is mostly based on the difference of amplitude between each point and the surrounding points. But the difference may be caused by lateral change of lithology. In this research, we study wide azimuth coherence technology. We can use the characteristics of amplitude changing to calculation azimuth coherence volume. Compared with post stack coherence, it reduces the multiplicity of solutions and predicts smaller fractures. Compared with the commonly used AVAZ technology, this method can predict both large and small scale fractures with higher accuracy. Good application effect has been achieved, which provides an important basis for well location deployment. This method has achieved good application results and provided important basis for well deployment.
