Survival and outcome after out of hospital cardiac arrests in the elderly in Norwegian healthcare institution

Purpose of the study: Approximately 11% of out of hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA) in Norway occur in a healthcare institution, but little is known about survival and neurological outcome. There is a perception among EMS personnel that resuscitation on patients in healthcare institutions often is futile and a fear that patients will have a poor neurological outcome if they survive.
