The factors related to the midwife’s universal precaution practice in childbirth assistance in delivery room Tgk. Chik Ditiro Hospital Sigli

Universal Precautions is a very important part of occupational safety and health in healthcare activities and one of the causes of disease from patients to medical personal is the lack of discipline of medical personnel in applying standard precautions. Health gathering places are surgery rooms (46%), maternity room (37%), inpatient room (11%), maternity room (3%) etc. (3%) and one of disease exposures from medical personnel undisciplined medical personnel in the exercise of standard precautions. The aim of this research is to determine the factors related to the practice of universal precautions of midwives in childbirth assistance in the delivery room of Tgk. Chik Ditiro Hospital Sigli. The design of this research was cross sectional design. The samples were the midwives as many as 39 midwives collected /schema/raw/master/. The data were analyzed with Chi Square test. The results indicate that there are 22 well-knowledge midwives apply 100% precautionary practice with p-value 0.000, length of work from 28 midwife categories the long working applying the precaution of universal practice well by 92.9% with p-value 0.005. There was no relationship between training factor and the application of universal precautionary practice in labor delivery, there was a correlation between knowledge factors with the application of universal precautionary practice in labor delivery and there was a relationship between long-standing factors of the work with the application of universal precautionary practice in deliveries in delivery room Tgk Chik Ditiro Hospital Sigli. Midwives should improve their knowledge and preventive efforts to prevent infection and disease transmission by attending seminars, reading articles, and health books and applying SOP of Universal Precautions to perfection.
