Heterogeneous computing platform for backend computing tasks

Abstract In this chapter, we present various heterogeneous computing architectures and platforms in radio astronomy and dedicated for radio astronomy, for example, GPU Manycore, ASIC, distributed computing, and so on. The chapter also includes case studies of core algorithms and their performance gain over the architectures and platforms in order to give the audience a picture of the challenges of the tasks and the solutions based on these architectures and platforms.
