Abstract
Art has been discussed for a long time as a type of language, since expressive elements placed in sequence can reveal a narrative.Unlike the written and spoken language that we learn in the educational process, visual art uses intuitive knowledge, which Michael Polanyi comes to call tacit knowledge. The acquisition of knowledge in art classes, such as photography, can be better learned with multiple artistic languages. We used this exchange of languages in a photography class related to the study of shadows, where the drawing was incorporated, and a class on the use of colors in photography, where the knowledge of art direction, design and cinema were incorporated. We aim that these multiple languages can provide a greater understanding of the teaching of photography for other courses that use photography such as design, architecture, cinema and gastronomy. As the teaching of photography requires the transfer of tacit knowledge to the student, we justify that this article provides subsidies for teaching in this discipline.Among the main theorists used in this work are Claudio Saiani ( 2004), who reports the value of Michael Polanyi's tacit knowledge in education; Nick Sousanis (2017) with the first doctoral thesis (in education) published in comic book format, where he discusses how multiple languages complement the imaginative-creative process; And Ana Cândido Moraes ( 2016), who brings contributions on interdisciplinarity and creativity in education.
