Application of Non-repeated Time-Lapse Seismic Technology in the XJ Oilfield, South China Sea
Springer Series in Geomechanics and GeoengineeringProceedings of the International Field Exploration and Development Conference 2019(2020)
Abstract
It is more difficult but significant to get effective seismic attributes for remaining oil prediction from non-repeated time-lapse seismic data. As a case from the XJ oilfield (first oil in 1997), South China Sea, non-repeated time-lapse seismic data were acquired in 2003 and 2013. Based on these seismic data, key technology of non-repeated time-lapse seismic were illuminated in this paper, for example, feasibility studying method, acquisition designing and matching processing technology, interpreted method for time-lapse seismic without data acquired before the first oil. According to analysis results of 10 new wells, prediction accuracy rate of non-repeated time-lapse seismic was 85% in the XJ oilfield. It is valuable to develop the potential of seismic big data and support oilfield production more effectively, with the study and application of non-repeated time-lapse seismic technology, such as target acquisition, matching processing, and comprehensive interpretation with static-dynamic reservoir data.
