A Panel Data Study to Understand the Factors Affecting HDI in BRICS Nations

In 1990 United nations started an index which is a composite statistic to understand and rankhuman development of a country across the world. “ The Human Development Index (HDI) is asummary measure of average achievement in key dimensions of human development: a long and healthy life, being knowledgeable and have a decent standard of living.” Originally HDIconsists of three variables namely Mean year of schooling, GNI(PPP) and Life expectancy. Inthis working paper, we have tried to find the impact and interaction of various other independentindices to make the understanding of HDI more comprehensive.
