A Large Barocaloric Effect Associated with Paramagnetic Martensitic Transformation in Co <sub>50</sub>Fe <sub>2.5</sub>V <sub>31.5</sub>Ga <sub>16</sub> Quaternary Heusler Alloy

This work reported a good two way shape memory effect associated with paramagnetic martensitic transformation (MT) in Co50Fe2.5V31.5Ga16 quaternary Heusler alloy near room temperature.Associated with these unique behaviors, a large barocaloric effect (BCE) has been firstly realized in the studied alloy under a relatively low hydrostatic pressure. These interesting findings indicate that the Co-V-Ga system probably become a new promising candidate for application in solid-state refrigeration techniques based on BCE.
