摘要
In contrast to the ubiquitous studies on C60 and C70 fullerenes, few experimental studies have been reported that describe pristine samples of higher fullerenes beyond 90 carbon atoms. Likewise, very few single-walled carbon nanotube reports have focused on pristine SWCNTs studies because of the lack of pristine nanotubes of either zigzag (n,n) or armchair (n,0) forms with respect to diameter and chirality. In this presentation, we describe a series of pristine molecules that can be described as either five-fold symmetry C90, C100 and C120 fullerenes or [5,5] End-Capped Carbon Nanotubes. The isolation, characterization, and physical properties of this pristine carbonaceous series will be the focus of this presentation.
