Abstract
ASME OM 2012 specifies a maximum vibration velocity of piping systems, which will not cause fatigue damage. An analytical study using ABAQUS was performed on various piping configurations to clarify the derivation process and application range of this rule. As a result, it was suggested that this rule was reasonable and that it covered many of the piping configurations. A seismic indicator that can evaluate the cumulative fatigue damage value is suggested to be derived using the rule by applying a portion of 103 times or less of the fatigue strength diagram.
