Tube Stochastic Optimal Control with Imperfect Information: Application to Navigation and Guidance Analyses

Trajectory design of spacecraft considering probabilistic uncertainties attracts attention for successful missions. Tube stochastic optimal control is proposed to solve this problem, but this theory has not handled situations under imperfect information of spacecraft’s states. This research proposes a novel approach to solve stochastic optimal control problems under imperfect information and applied it to spacing problems of trajectory correction maneuvers. The spacing problem was solved by the proposed method without an assumption of linear dynamics. Numerical simulations illustrate the expected fuel consumption of the optimized solution is less than the solution of the previous research.
