Study on noise level reduction in tamarind seed powder based fire cracker

In recent scenario celebration of festivals in modern society with the bursting of firecrackers is inevitable, the bursting of crackers create enormous noise and environment pollution. Though there are strict rules and regulations on the aforementioned, sometimes it is unexpected to have more sound and environment pollution during festival periods. In this work, an attempt is made to maintain the noise level as per the standards framed by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) of India by modifying the chemical composition. To reduce the noise pollution, a comparative study is done on the fabricated firecrackers. Two different variety of fire crackers namely Bijili and atom bomb crackers are fabricated as per standard procedure. The aforementioned procedure is repeated to make a new variety of Bijili and atom bomb crackers by adding 5 and 10% of tamarind seed powder and by reducing the sulfur content by 5 and 10 %. The noise level is measured in terms of A-weighted and C-weighted Sound Pressure Level. The same is compared by a new variety of Bijili and atom bomb crackers. It is observed that the new variety of Bijili and atom bomb crackers are having less sound level compared to standard fire crackers.
