Based on DEM-CFD Numerical Simulation of Seed Particle Suspension Velocity Measurement

Abstract
To research seed particles impact on suspension velocity measurement, this paper aims at the appearance size of seed particles, using the superposition of filling and the three dimensional modeling design method for particles Utilizing Texture Analyzer measure the physical parameters of seed particles. Through the parameter calibration, the contact parameters can be determined. Then the parameters can be concluded which discrete element method required. Using the method of discrete element software EDEM and computational fluid dynamics software FLUENT coupling to simulate suspension velocity test. Using suspension velocity test rig measure seed particles. The test results and simulation results are basically identical. seeds suspension velocity are obtained. Using post-processing software ENGSIGHT analysis and compare the single gas field and solid gas mixing flow field respectively. The results show that the existence of seed particles have great influence to distribution of flow field. This approach can provide a reference used for simulation of gas-solid two phase flow.
