Firstly, this paper gives the procedure of 3D random cave medium using extreme search method, this method can confirm model's porosity. Further more, we use extreme search method to construct four kinds of 3D random cave medium models based on random medium in common use., and summarize their relative merits. Finally, we take 3D Gaussian random for example to construct some 3D random fracture-cavern medium models to discuss the impact of autocorrelation, section length on the simulation results, and find a good agreement: simulating 3D random fracture-cave medium in seismic prospecting upon extreme search method is convenient, flexible and accurate.
