A Study on Selrah Six Factor Personality(SFP) by Entrance Type of Medical School in Korea

본 연구는 의과대학의 입학전형 집단에 따라 의대생 및 지원자의 인성특성이 어떻게 차이가 나는지를 비교 분석하여 의대생 선발 시 인성특성 활용의 중요성을 확인하고, 나아가 의과대학의 입학정책 수립 및 교육과정 설계를 위해 필요한 기초자료를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 2014년, 2015년, 2017년 연세대학교 의과대학 의학과에 진학한 의예과 수료자와 의전원 전형 또는 학사편입학 전형에 응시한 지원자들을 대상으로 시행한 셀라6요인의 검사결과를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 의과대학의 입학전형 집단에 따라 의대생 및 지원자의 인성유형이 차이가 났으며, 5개의 인성유형 중에서 민감성, 외향성, 성취지향성이 중요한 요인으로 도출되었다. 둘째, 의과대학의 입학전형 집단에 따라 의대생 및 지원자의 PH요인의 점수는 차이가 났으며, 6개의 PH요인 중에서는 균형과 넷중독, 관계와 회피, 유지와 반사회가 중요한 요인으로 분석되었다. 마지막으로 인성유형의 결합요인은 입학전형 집단별로 두드러진 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 이러한 결과를 중심으로 의과대학 선발방식의 다양화 추구, 의대생의 인성특성과 관련된 연구 수행, 인성특성을 고려한 의학교육 프로그램 설계 등을 제언하였다.The purpose of this study is to identify the importance of personality characteristics as a criterion for selecting medical college students, and to provide basic data necessary for the establishment of admission policies and design of curriculum for medical schools. This study is to examine differences in personality characteristics of medical students and applicants according to the entrance type of medical school. Participants were students who entered the department of medical science from premedical course of Yonsei University School of Medicine in 2014 and 2015, and applicants who have applied for Graduate School of Medicine or Bachelor s transfer of Yonsei University School of Medicine in 2014, 2015, and 2017. This study analyzed the results of the test of the Sellah Six Factor Personality Inventory. First, the personality types of medical students and applicants differed according to the entrance type of medical school, and Sensitivity, Extraversion, and Achievement were found to be significant factors among five types of personality. Second, the score of PH factors of medical students and applicants differed according to the entrance type of medical school, and ‘balance and Internet addiction’, ‘relationship and avoidance’, and ‘maintenance and anti-socialism’ were found to be significant factors among six PH factors. Finally, there was no significant difference in the combination factors of personality types between the entrance type of medical school. The implications of this study are presented in conclusions.
