30 ndometriosis is defined as the presence of functional endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity.1 It is the second most prevalent benign gynecologic disease in women of reproductive age, with an incidence of 10% to 25%.2,3 Despite the presence of endometrial tissue in ectopic locations being a common finding, perineal endometriosis is a very rare condition.
